Rivers State House of Assembly Resumes Sitting After 6-month Suspension

The Rivers State House of Assembly has resumed plenary session after a six-month suspension imposed during the State of Emergency.

The assembly, led by Speaker Martin Amaewhule reconvened at the Assembly Residential Complex along the Aba-Port Harcourt Expressway this morning September 18.

Recall that on March 18, President Tinubu declared a state of Emergency in the state and suspended the Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, his Deputy, Ngozi Odu and the lawmakers,

As the house returned to the business of lawmaking, a large crowd of supporters are converged on the Government House in anticipation of the arrival of the Governor following his reinstatement.
