Nigerian music star Tiwa Savage has given fans a rare glimpse into her personal life, candidly sharing her views on love, intimacy, and self-contentment during a recent interview.
The award-winning singer, who turned 45 earlier this year, said she feels no pressure from age or societal expectations. “I’m not young, I’m 45, and I’m good,” she stated confidently, adding that her happiness is not tied to anyone else’s validation.
When asked about her love life, Tiwa admitted she is highly selective. She revealed that she has gone several years without intimacy because, for her, love and genuine connection come first.
“I’ve gone maybe like three years without… it’s not something I’m really crazy about. Yes, 365 days, 365 days. For me, I have to be in love to even think about it,” she said.
Unlike many of her peers, Tiwa explained that she doesn’t rely on intimacy aids. “I don’t have toys,” she confessed with a laugh, before joking that fans might consider sending her some as Christmas gifts. “Maybe that’s what people should get me for Christmas dinner… but imagine me opening boxes of roses at my show, checking them like they’re b%mbs,” she quipped.
Her openness sparked laughter during the interview, but it also highlighted her commitment to staying true to herself despite the spotlight.
For Tiwa, love remains the foundation of everything. “Yes, I have to be with someone for me to even think about it,” she stressed.
