I Feel Insulted — Kingsley Okonkwo Lash Out At Pastors Criticising His Tattoo

The founder of David’s Christian Centre, Kingsley Okonkwo has once again responded to the criticism he received after a video showing a new tattoo on his arm went viral, saying he felt insulted by comments from some ministers.

In the now-widely-shared clip, the cleric is seen addressing his congregation, dismissing those who criticised his body art and labelling their reactions as “stupid talk”.

“On my tattoo issue, only one or two ministers were grounded and sound enough to understand it. Most of them are just religious people,” he said.

“They said, ‘tattoo is not a sin, but is it expedient? Why did you post it? Why must you do it?’ That is stupid talk, and I am insulted.”

Okonkwo stressed the importance of what he called “ranking in the spirit,” insisting that respect must be maintained within the body of Christ.

“There is ranking in the spirit. My junior cannot talk when I am talking. There are people you cannot correct. The scope of what they are handling, you cannot grasp it,” he said.

The pastor also argued that some of his critics lack the spiritual depth required to question certain decisions.

“They are people you can’t correct because the scope of what they are handling, you can’t have a grasp of it. Am I higher than Joyce Meyer? Joyce Meyer had a tattoo at about 80 years old,” he said.

Okonkwo had earlier fired back at critics by asserting that there is no explicit ban on tattoos in the Bible.
